Are there any external software requirements? No, only a Pipeliner database hosted on a Notes Client or Domino Server.
Can the same tool be used for multiple migrations?Yes, a single Pipeliner database can export Mail or Applications to any target platform, as many times as you want.
Do I need to perform the migration myself? You can either perform the migration yourself, or subcontract the work to us or any other Business Partner.
What support do you offer? We offer full remote support for the duration of your migration, which is included in the price.
How is the product licensed?Licensing is based on the number of Mail Files or Databases being archived or exported. You can also process the same Databases as many times as you want, including to different formats, to see what works best. For more information, please see the
Licensing Page.
What about Mail Archives?Licensing for Mail Archives is set at 25% of the price of Production Mail Databases.
Is the tool multi-threaded?Yes, up to 10 databases can be migrated simultaneously. You can also configure it to process multiple databases consecutively, until all migrations are complete.
Can the tool handle local Mail Archives?Local Mail Archives can be identified, uploaded to a Server, or converted to PST in-place, centrally controlled by the Administrator.
Is encrypted Mail handled?Yes, encrypted Mail can be automatically decrypted prior to migration.
What if I have too much data for a single migration weekend?Migrate the majority of data in advance, then use Delta exporting to migrate only new and modified data over the designated weekend.
Can I keep using Notes applications in a different platform? You can choose to use and update migrated data in a new platform, e.g. as SharePoint metadata or in Google Docs, but generally Notes application functionality is no longer available.
What does the migrated data look like?Mail is able to be used as normal mail in the new environment (filing, replying etc). Application data is kept as close as possible to the original Notes format, including exporting Views, Embedded Views, Form UI, Tabbed Tables, Sections etc.
Do I need to do anything to migrate Applications? No, migration is performed automatically. However because each Notes Application can be different, you can also define individual settings per database, for example to create the Folder hierarchy for exported pages.
What is actually migrated from Applications?Notes Documents become PDFs, HTML or ASPX pages. Attachments are exported in their native format and linked to each exported PDF/Page. Rich Text, Images, Tables etc all appear as closely as possible to the original Notes format.
What is actually migrated from Mail? When exporting Mail or Journals, each NSF becomes a PST, or individual emails can be exported to EML/ICS/VCF formats.
Can I select what data to migrate?Yes, you can use various data selectors or @formulas to specify exactly what to migrate per Database, e.g. selecting via date or removing Administration documents.
What is the process for migrating Mail to M365?Each NSF is exported to a PST, and the Pipeliner creates additional files to be used by the Microsoft Network Upload process.
Can I migrate Database security? For Applications, you can automatically transfer Notes Database ACLs to SharePoint or Google. For Mail, each NSF is migrated to a PST for the relevant user, or added to their MS365 account.
Does the solution handle Doclinks and Embedded Views?Yes, Doclinks and Embedded View links work within the same database, between different databases, and even in SharePoint.
